The Alliance Française of Central Iowa is not offering lessons in French language at this time. However, some of our members are involved in other French learning groups and we would like to share these options for those who are interested!

There is a French conversation group. Since the Drake Diner is closed on Monday evenings, we are now meeting at Gateway Market. If you want to be added to the mailing list about this group, send your email address to westphalp@central.,edu. Some people buy their dinner, others have just a drink. There are no fees or rules, and anyone who is willing to try to speak French is welcome. We have regular attendees who are near-native speakers and some who know just a phrase or two.

Des Moines Area Community College offers elementary and intermediate French.

Iowa European Cultural Connection and the continuing education department at Des Moines Public Schools offer French classes occasionally.

There are, of course, lots of on-line options: the Alliances in many larger cities offer such classes.
