Learning French in Des Moines

The Alliance Française of Central Iowa is not offering lessons in French language at this time. However, some of our members are involved in other French learning groups and we would like to share these options for those who are interested!

There is a French conversation group that meets every Monday evening from 7:30-9 at the Drake Diner, on 25th Street, just south of University. Some people buy their dinner, others have just a drink. There are no fees or rules, and anyone who is willing to try to speak French is welcome. We have regular attendees who are near-native speakers and some who know just a phrase or two. Ask at the entrance to the Diner for the French group.

There is information about several other conversation opportunities at the website http://www.meetup.com:

The Des Moines French Language Meetup Group.

The Des Moines Schools usually offer a French class in the Community Education program.
